Marine Service Technician

Our Client:
Our client, located in a beautiful waterfront location, is one of the fastest-growing marine dealerships in the area. They sell high-end brands and are seeking an experienced Service Technician to further elevate the great service they provide to their customers.

The Opportunity:
The Marine Service Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain boats, motors, and trailers, working with high-end brands such as Suzuki, Yamaha, and PCM. This role is within a family-owned dealership that fosters a close-knit team atmosphere and offers room for long-term career growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair outboards, inboards, boats, and trailers
  • Efficiently perform service work correctly the first time
  • Install mechanical and electrical accessories
  • Increase service sales, customer satisfaction, and dealership profitability
  • Communicate professionally, timely, and accurately with customers and coworkers
  • Manage project timelines, schedule service appointments, and multitask effectively

Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Mechanic or Service Technician at a marine dealership
  • Knowledge of inboard and outboard motors, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications, instruction manuals, and manufacturer handbooks
  • Professional, customer-centric personality with effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of marine electrical and mechanical systems – diagnostics and repairs
  • Certification and experience with Suzuki, Yamaha, and PCM (Mercury and MerCruiser experience is a plus)
  • Experience handling warranty service calls
  • Ability to manage service timelines, schedule appointments, and collaborate with the service team
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and work alongside service staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; computer literacy
