Our distinguished boat manufacturer client is known for its award-winning designs, yacht-like amenities, and top-tier fishability. Their reputation is built on exceptional quality, with unsinkable hulls crafted from high-quality materials and an intense attention to detail. Most manufacturing components are produced in-house, ensuring precision and consistency in each boat. The company offers a versatile lineup of center consoles, ranging from 18 to 50 feet. Boats are sold through a dealer network from Coast to Coast, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to premium, performance-driven marine experiences.

Summary:

The VP of Product Development and Innovation will drive product strategy and innovation with a focus on advanced engineering, cutting-edge design, and sustainable practices in boat manufacturing. This leader will oversee all aspects of product design, engineering, and naval architecture, ensuring excellence in performance, quality, and aesthetics. The VP will work closely with the executive team to set strategic direction and play a key role in the company’s growth and market leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of product development strategies aligned with company growth and market trends.
  • Oversee design, engineering, and naval architecture teams to produce high-performance boats.
  • Innovate with manufacturing techniques and advanced materials.
  • Manage R&D resources and foster innovation within the product development process.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution from design to launch.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing engineering and design teams.
  • Develop and manage the department’s budget and allocate resources effectively.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in marine product design and engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in product strategy and lifecycle management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
