Production Manager - Boat Manufacturer

Position Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to lead the production team in a yacht building company located in New England. With a focus on luxury cruising boats, the company is known for its commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring safety, efficiency, and the highest quality standards. This individual will need to foster a positive work culture, collaborating with diverse teams across the organization, while continually striving for excellence in boatbuilding and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct all activities within the production team to ensure smooth operations, from start to finish.
• Implement and maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
• Ensure that production meets established quality standards and specifications.
• Measure productivity and performance metrics, utilizing data to drive improvements.
• Supervise and manage a diverse team of 80+ associates, ensuring continuous training, mentoring, and professional development.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the production schedule, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Motivate and lead the production team to achieve daily targets and long-term objectives.
• Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, HR, and Sales teams to ensure the production team has the necessary resources and support.
• Collaborate with other departments to continuously optimize production processes, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a production or plant manager, ideally within the boatbuilding or manufacturing industry.
• Comprehensive experience with all aspects of boatbuilding and yacht production processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of team members and departments.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules.
• Proven track record of driving productivity improvements and achieving operational goals.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating large teams.
