Summary:
Are you passionate about boat building and looking to bring your CNC programming skills to a dynamic team in North Carolina? As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce complex parts and components used in the construction of high-quality boats. This is a great opportunity for someone with expertise in 5-axis machining to contribute to the precision and efficiency of boat building operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software for 5-axis machining of plugs and molds for boat building.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to determine machining operations.
- Set up and configure CNC machines based on job requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
- Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues during production.
- Develop CNC programs for 3-axis cutting of sheet goods for patterns and production parts.
- Develop CNC programs for cutting roll sheet goods into production materials.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to achieve production goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC programmer with expertise in 5-axis machining.
- Proficiency in CAM software and programming.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
- Experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and materials used in CNC machining.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC.
