CNC Programmer

Summary:

Are you passionate about boat building and looking to bring your CNC programming skills to a dynamic team in North Carolina? As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce complex parts and components used in the construction of high-quality boats. This is a great opportunity for someone with expertise in 5-axis machining to contribute to the precision and efficiency of boat building operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programs using CAM software for 5-axis machining of plugs and molds for boat building.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to determine machining operations.
  • Set up and configure CNC machines based on job requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
  • Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues during production.
  • Develop CNC programs for 3-axis cutting of sheet goods for patterns and production parts.
  • Develop CNC programs for cutting roll sheet goods into production materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC programmer with expertise in 5-axis machining.
  • Proficiency in CAM software and programming.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
  • Experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and materials used in CNC machining.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC.
