The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a well-seasoned RV Technician to bolster the capabilities and the quality of output of their service department. This person should be capable of more than just changing parts; they should be proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues or failures of all RV systems, who has demonstrated their ability to handle more advanced service overhauls on all manner of towable RVs. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a dedicated RV service department or facility. Certifications and additional training is preferred, but not required (they will invest in you and your education). This candidate will be expected to engage customers directly as needed, and should be capable of communicating in a professional manner. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and structural components of RVs
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, including inspections, fluid changes, and system checks
- Install aftermarket accessories and upgrades such as satellite systems, awnings, leveling systems, and towing equipment
- Inspect and repair propane and water systems, ensuring they meet safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair 12V and 120V electrical systems, including batteries, wiring, and inverters
- Explain repairs and maintenance recommendations to customers in a clear, professional manner
- Complete detailed work orders and warranty paperwork as directed, accurately and on time
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure RVs meet dealership standards
- Request necessary parts and manage inventory for repairs and installations as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Work with Service Advisors, Parts staff, and other Technicians as needed to ensure efficient workflow
- Operate daily with the aim of providing an excellent customer experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RV Technician in an RV dealership or dedicated RV service facility
- Must be adept in troubleshooting and diagnosis of all RV systems and appliances
- Must be able to perform intake on new vehicles in a timely manner, diagnosing issues, listing parts needed, and providing an accurate estimate of time needed for unit repairs
- RVTI certification or equivalent preferred but not required based on experience
- Must have a thorough understanding for RV dealership operations, including Parts, Service, and the warranty process
- Basic experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other trade oriented work
- Must be detail oriented, customer-oriented, and professional in appearance, behavior, and communication
- Must be computer literate
