Our client is a respected, family-operated RV dealership with a longstanding reputation for quality sales, trustworthy and timely service, and exceptional body and collision work. Under new ownership since the early 2020’s they’ve continually made strides in terms of business growth, capturing more market share and increasing revenue in each year since. They excel in complex service areas, especially diesel motorhome maintenance and restoration, and they are known for their meticulous craftsmanship, friendly demeanor, and commitment to treating customers with honesty and expertise. Over the years, they've built a loyal customer base, offering comprehensive solutions across RV sales, service, and consignment, rooted in transparency and hands-on support. There will be growth opportunities in this operation as they look to continue to expand their footprint in the area and grow the business.

The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for an experienced Service Manager to oversee and streamline operations in a growing RV service and body shop that specializes in diesel motorhome maintenance. This person will wear multiple hats, and handle responsibilities such as managing repair orders, creating accurate estimates for both service and body work, overseeing parts procurement, and dispatching jobs to a skilled, tight-knit team of Technicians. This role is vital in maintaining customer satisfaction, optimizing repair timelines, and reinforcing a culture of trust and expertise. This position offers the chance to step into a business with a solid service reputation, support a loyal customer base, and collaborate directly with ownership on continued growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the service and body shop, ensuring smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
  • Write accurate estimates for service and body repair jobs
  • Order, track, and manage parts to support efficient job completion
  • Dispatch work to technicians, monitor progress, and ensure timely closing of repair orders
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for the service department, providing updates and guidance on repairs
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators such as absorption rate, efficiency, and turnaround times
  • Collaborate closely with ownership to review open repair orders, prioritize jobs, and manage scheduling
  • Maintain documentation and organization to keep the shop running efficiently
  • Support and mentor technicians, ensuring teamwork and accountability within the department
  • Represent the service department with professionalism and a focus on long-term customer relationships

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in RV service management, service writing, or a related role (diesel motorhome experience strongly preferred)
  • Prior to the inception of the Service Manager experience, 2 years of experience minimum as a Technician or Service Writer/Advisor
  • Proven ability to manage service workflow, write accurate estimates, and order/track parts
  • Body shop experience: Technician, Management, Service Writer/Advisor
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a small, close-knit team
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of RV systems, particularly diesel pushers, with the ability to communicate effectively on the subject of RV systems with customers and Technicians
  • Proficiency in repair order management, scheduling, and use of dealer management systems (Tekion, Lightspeed, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships to foster repeat business
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy shop environment
  • A steady, adaptable leader who can learn existing processes, fit into the culture, and introduce improvements over time
