The Opportunity:
This opportunity is well suited for a seasoned finance leader who has operated at a high level within complex, multi-location environments and is ready to take on regional responsibility within a growing enterprise. The role will partner closely with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders to oversee financial performance across a portfolio of locations, support continued organizational scale, and ensure consistency across distinct operating entities. Based at the company’s corporate headquarters in the Southeast, the exact scope of responsibility will be thoughtfully aligned to the individual’s demonstrated strengths and experience, with clear expectations established through the interview and onboarding process. Success in this role will require strong technical accounting expertise, a broad understanding of dealership operations including service functions, and the ability to adapt, prioritize, and lead effectively within an evolving organizational structure. Prior dealership experience within RV, Marine, Powersports, or closely related industries is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.
  • Month-End Close Process: Lead and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. This process includes:
    • Reviewing general ledger entries
    • Ensuring sales are properly posted
    • Ensuring bank reconciliations completed
    • Leading the team to complete A/P and A/R reconciliations and resolve issues
    • Ensuring inventory control and valuation
    • Completing dealership expense analysis and reporting results to leadership
    • Maintaining audit compliance and audit preparation
    • Payment of monthly floorplan interest and curtailment payments
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in establishing annual expense budgets and measure results against established targets.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard dealership assets and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax-related requirements, including preparing and filing sales tax returns, managing sales tax audits, and staying up to date with tax regulations.
  • Financial Software & Systems: Utilize and maintain accounting software systems to streamline financial processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Team Management (dependent on managerial experience): Supervise and lead accounting support team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Perform assigned month-end and year-end preparation procedures
  • Monthly review of manager commissions and creation of payroll accrual files
  • Continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field
  • 5 Years in senior accounting or controller roles
  • CPA/CMA preferred, not required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theories, concepts and practices and the ability to navigate complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision makers
  • Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other MS Office Products
  • PowerBI experience preferred, not required
