The Senior Mechanical Engineer will develop systems and components to support the product plan, with a primary focus on new product development and Product Data Management (PDM). This position ensures boat systems meet United States Coast Guard (USCG) and American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) standards while performing safely and reliably throughout the expected service life of the product. The Opportunity:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will develop systems and components to support the product plan, with a primary focus on new product development and Product Data Management (PDM). Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain engineering designs in support of the product plan.
  • Maintain and manage Product Data Management (PDM) systems and documentation.
  • Create and maintain service documentation supporting product installation and operation.
  • Assist in training production personnel and provide technical guidance on operational questions.
  • Validate and recommend product improvements that enhance customer experience and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Test and troubleshoot boats in real-world lake and river environments.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal departments to resolve installation and operational issues.
  • Support current production products, customer service initiatives, compliance efforts, and audit activities.
  • Assist in the development, validation, and technical review of sales and marketing materials.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable USCG, ABYC, and industry standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Five or more years of engineering experience, preferably within the marine, recreational vehicle, transportation, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience developing boats or related products is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the design and mechanical characteristics of common boat-building materials.
  • Ability to tow and operate boats is preferred; training will be provided.
  • NMMA Compliance Specialist certification is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound engineering judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing, walk frequently, lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders as needed, and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
