Beyond day to day leadership, this role offers the opportunity to help modernize HR through process and systems improvement, workflow optimization, strategic use of technology and AI which is already well integrated, and continued development of scalable systems that better serve everyone at the store level, and corporate departmental teams. Success in this position will come from sound HR practices, building strong relationships, balancing compliance with practical business needs, and serving as a trusted resource who enables operational success rather than creating unnecessary barriers; this is key.

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation with an attainable bonus component based on project completion, and potentially other KPIs and organizational goals
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) plan with match
  • Health savings account (HSA)
  • Life insurance

  • Strong team oriented culture within a privately owned dealership group, in a shared office space (HQ) with the executive team

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Human Resources team, providing direction across HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition, Benefits & Leave Administration, and Workers' Compensation functions while helping position the department for continued growth.
  • Champion the continued evolution of the company's HR technology and process improvement initiatives by leveraging ADP, AI-powered tools, workflow automation, and other emerging technologies to improve efficiency, documentation, reporting, and the overall employee experience.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, General Managers, and department leaders to provide practical HR guidance that supports sound business decisions while balancing operational objectives, employee experience, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build strong relationships throughout the organization by serving as a trusted business partner who coaches leaders through employee relations matters, performance management, disciplinary actions, and organizational challenges rather than acting solely as a compliance resource.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve HR processes, workflows, and communication across departments, identifying opportunities to simplify administrative tasks, eliminate inefficiencies, and create a more seamless experience for both employees and managers.
  • Partner with Accounting, Payroll, and Operations to improve communication surrounding compensation changes, pay plans, promotions, organizational changes, and employee data, helping ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely execution across departments.

  • Develop practical tools, resources, and training that strengthen leadership capability, improve manager confidence, and promote consistent HR practices throughout the organization.
  • Utilize HR metrics, workforce analytics, and reporting to identify trends, measure performance, support strategic decision-making, and recommend initiatives that improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead and contribute to HR systems enhancements, technology implementations, process redesign, organizational initiatives, and other continuous improvement efforts that support the company's long-term growth objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and other applicable and relevant employment practices.
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships with executive leadership, operational leaders, and employees by providing practical, business minded HR guidance rather than relying solely on policy enforcement.
  • Experience coaching managers through employee relations matters, performance management, progressive discipline, investigations, and complex employment situations while balancing legal considerations with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, improving, and implementing HR processes, workflows, and best practices within a multi-location dealership group.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or a comparable Human Resources Information System (HRIS), with experience leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
