The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Operator III to join their CNC Fabrication Operations team in Troy, AL. This senior-level role requires proficiency in CNC setup, programming, and operation of 2-5 axis machines. The Operator III will also mentor junior technicians and ensure quality production through expert troubleshooting and continuous process improvement. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute setup and programming for CNC Mills, Lathes, and screw machines
- Operate multi-axis CNC machines using SolidWorks, Mastercam, and similar tools
- Mentor CNC technicians and oversee training within the machining department
- Develop standard work procedures, setup sheets, and tooling specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain high productivity and tight tolerances
- Perform quality assurance checks using gauges, indicators, and optical systems
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 10–15 years of CNC milling and/or turning experience
- Metal Machining with tight tolerance experience
- Working knowledge of Fanuc Programming and Macro B
- Proficiency in interpreting GD&T and CNC G-code
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Turn-Mill operations preferred
- Must meet ITAR requirements
