The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a highly skilled CNC Operator IV to join their manufacturing operations in Troy, AL. This expert-level role involves the setup, prove-out, and programming of advanced CNC equipment including mill turns, EDMs, and screw machines. The CNC Operator IV will play a key role in mentoring staff, optimizing performance, and leading technical processes across the department. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prove out and set up CNC programs using SolidWorks, Mastercam, and NC code
- Install and align fixtures, tombstones, and vises with quick-change systems
- Mentor and train CNC personnel in programming, setup, and inspection techniques
- Perform quality checks using optical comparators, sine plates, and micrometers
- Edit and record NC code changes and lead productivity improvement initiatives
- Act as team lead during absence of supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Metal Machining with tight tolerance experience
- 10–15 years of CNC machining experience including multi-axis milling and turning
- Proficient in Fanuc and Siemens controls, G-Code, Macro B, and Renishaw probing
- Strong knowledge of conventional and advanced machining techniques
- Fanuc automation experience preferred
- Must meet ITAR requirements
